Our Shared Nightmare
Let's awaken from our shared nightmare and dream a better reality into existence.
Most of my beliefs were implanted into my young self by unconscious parenting, government schooling and constant propaganda. They are not my beliefs. And they were buried in my unconscious until I became aware of them. You cannot change a belief you are not aware of.
The oligarchs want us to blindly accept the beliefs they implanted into our parents’ minds and then our minds. If we continue on autopilot, living through the beliefs they’ve inserted into us, humanity's future is bleak. So let's start this thought experiment together.
What are you? Where are you? What is the purpose of life?
Let’s examine these three powerful questions through two characters who have been raised with different belief systems. Which story most closely resembles your own?
Chris’ Story
Chris is about to graduate from public high school. Both of Chris’ parents went to college and are working at jobs that pay the bills but aren’t fun. They punch the clock until they can retire. Chris’ parents trust the government, medical doctors, and school teachers, so have been comfortable following most of the dictates that they get about how to raise their children. They want their children to go to college, get a good job, and live a comfortable life.
The family occasionally goes to church, especially on holidays. Chris’ parents believe in God but are not sure why. It just seems like a reasonable thing to do, especially with the idea of Hell looming over their heads. Science seems to be solving most of the problems in the world, so God is more of an abstract concept for them.
Chris learned in public school that the universe suddenly appeared after a random Big Bang. Millions of years of evolution resulted in human beings who are more intelligent than other apes because of their cerebral cortex. There is nothing really special about human beings except their opposable thumbs, use of language and tools, and propensity to wage war. Chris trusts science and is comfortable following what scientists, politicians, and doctors tell him. Life is random and chaotic so it is best that humans develop technology to tame and control nature.
School taught Chris that he is not good in science or math, which is a shame because STEM majors make the most money. Chris is hoping that he can get a good job once he graduates from college. College is expensive but that’s because it is so valuable. And all of Chris’ friends are going to college too.
Chris learned in school and by watching the news that human beings are harming the earth. Resources on this tiny planet are scarce and there just isn’t enough to go around. There are far too many people on earth, so we must limit our activity and aim for a zero carbon environment. (Chris hasn’t considered that he is a carbon based life form.) Climate change is real and quite scary. (Nobody told Chris that we are in a grand solar minimum and possibly heading into an ice age.)
Chris loves watching post-apocalypse movies and wonders if this is how it’s all going to end. There is no magic in the world so fantasy worlds like Star Wars and Harry Potter have always appealed to Chris. Popular music tells Chris that you only life once so pursue pleasure to the max.
Since life is a survival of the fittest, Chris is used to competing for grades and a high GPA. He is focused on personal survival. Chris believes that our rights come from the government so is grateful to live in a democracy. The government takes care of weak people so it’s okay that it spends over $800 billion on weapons and war every year.
Chris feels alone and isolated frequently even though he has many friends. The world is a cold and dead place, so the best Chris can do is struggle through and figure out how to pay the bills. Chris is often insecure and feels intense guilt and shame for not being quite good enough. It is a lot of work to hide these inner conflicts from the world.
Chris is feeling anxious about the future and the economy. He feels powerless and suspects that something is wrong, but doesn’t know what. He feels weak for experiencing these emotions. He learned that anxiety and depression are individual pathologies. Chris is told that healthy people are happy all the time. If anxiety and depression creep into your experience, there are pills that can help. After all, these emotions come into your brain from a chemical imbalance or an external happening. Chris is considering asking for an anti-depressant. Hopefully getting into a good college will be the solution for his angst.
What are Chris' beliefs?
Q. What are you?
A. Just a separate meat sack with a brain. Not much different than an ape.
Q. Where are you?
A. On a small random planet spinning around a sun that is dying.
Q. What is the purpose of life?
A. To survive in a cold, uncaring world.
Jordan’s Story
Jordan is finishing up a homeschooling adventure and growing a small wellness company. Jordan’s parents went to college but had an awakening in their early thirties and realized that society’s definition of success is bankrupt. Jordan was raised with a different definition of success. When you are doing work you love in service of others and experience peace, joy and contentment you are living a successful life.
Jordan’s family runs a small farm so she was able to learn how to grow food, care for chickens, milk cows and become self-reliant. Lots of time spent in nature as a child has resulted in Jordan having a personal relationship with the earth and all living creatures. Her parents treated sickness with natural remedies, herbs, and homeopathy. Jordan nourishes her body and spirit with plenty of sunlight and time in nature, classical music, clean water and food, and an active yet personal prayer practice. This has inspired her to build a wellness company.
Jordan learned that the universe is far too complex and perfect to have been a random accident. After all, have you ever heard of something being created from nothing? Jordan’s parents taught Jordan that God is a loving, benevolent Creator and we are all created in God’s image. Jordan knows that she is a spiritual energetic being that cannot be destroyed. She lives without a fear of death and is grateful for her life.
Jordan’s parents taught her how her sprit and mind work together. She understands that when she is in a low mood, she will be tempted to use her thinking against herself. Since her spiritual being is perfect and made in the image of God, this would be a great sin. She was taught to love herself unconditionally and learn from her mistakes but not to punish herself for any perceived imperfections.
Because she loves herself unconditionally, she is able to love others and not tolerate any abuse. Understanding the role of stress and emotions in disease has encouraged Jordan to quiet her mind and listen to the whispers of her inner voice and intuition to guide her. She stays focused on exercising her individual power and creative imagination to create the life she desires. Jordan is excited to build a company that helps others people.
By studying grammar and rhetoric, Jordan learned how to think for herself. Contemplating the works of Plato, Kepler, Schiller and other great thinkers with her homeschool group, she understands that the universe is designed perfectly and operates through Natural Laws that are discoverable through the use of human reason. She understands that our rights come from God, not the government.
Jordan learned the history of science and how scientism has corrupted the pursuit of truth. She became fascinated with the harmony of the universe and especially planetary motion when she studied the work of Johannes Kepler. She is fascinated with sacred geometry and the Fibonacci Sequence that can be found in her own body, flowers, apples, trees, and almost all life forms.
She started playing the violin at a young age and learned math by studying music. Jordan is amazed that everything in this universe has a vibrational frequency and appreciates the connection between color and sound. Everything she sees is alive and vibrating. Who would have guessed that the earth also has a special frequency of 7.83 hz called the Schumann resonance? Jordan can almost feel it when she stands barefoot on the earth.
She was taught that the victors write the history books. Jordan learned history by reading source documents and studying with people who saw through the propaganda in school history books. Jordan understands that oligarchs have funded both sides of every war for profit while lurking in the shadows and staying out of the history books. She is a pacifist and doesn’t want to contribute to the war industry in any way.
Jordan is troubled by the misuse of power that she witnesses in the world. Having studied the history of empire, banking, slavery, and war, she has a healthy mistrust of the government. She hopes we can recover our Republic that was hijacked by corporate fascism.
Jordan doesn't enjoy popular TV, movies or music growing up because the violence and pornography of it offends her. She understands the difference between beauty and ugliness and chooses to focus on the good and beautiful.
College doesn’t appeal to her because she knows how to learn and has surrounded herself with loving mentors all of her life. Plus, she knows that you can learn almost anything you want without formal schooling. Starting her adult life with a mound of debt that will never be forgiven seems quite silly to her. Growing her wellness company is one of her passions and she jumps out of bed every day excited to be alive. She sees the magic and mystery of life everywhere she looks.
What are Jordan's beliefs?
Q. What are you?
A. An energetic, spiritual being made in the image of God.
Q. Where are you?
A. On a perfect paradise made by God for his children. All imperfections are man made.
Q. What is the purpose of life?
A. To love God, love myself, love others, and be of greatest service while enjoying life.
Which Story is More Appealing?
I was raised with Chris’ story and had an awakening when I turned 30. The past three years have helped me to realize the way we raise our children is going to determine the future of humanity.
I dream of creating a spirit-directed educational offer that protects the spirit and wholeness of every young man and woman. This starts with parents unlearning false beliefs and stepping into their power to educate their sons and daughters. My first offer is No Cogs. It’s time to reclaim the truth, beauty, and goodness that is our birthright.
